Today Was a Productive Day!

To my surprise today turned out to be a productive day. I'm still working on minimizing the number of times I hit my snooze button, but I did manage to get up today and throw on my gym wear. Things were off to a good start until I actually made it to the gym, swiped my access key and the doors wouldn't open. Turns out the door was malfunctioning and wouldn't unlock, so I got a tad bit discouraged. I didn't want to wait 20 minutes of the front office to open up, but at the same time I wanted to get some kind of workout in since I woke up early to do so. So though I was disappointed I turned around, got in the car and came back to my place and popped in the Biggest Loser workout DVD- lets just say I'm soo out of shape! But I did get in a workout!

The rest of the day I spent with my friends studying for the NCE. It felt good to actually get started on the preparation even though my test date hasn't been set yet. And on top of that, I started using the calorie counting tool that allows me to manage a food diary and counts my calorie intake. I managed to stay under my set caloric intake value, so I'm super stoked about that!

Though I got a lot done today, I still have that desire to get back to building my bath and body line and cranking out some new clutches. I still have to figure out how I can incorporate that my day, but I have faith that I will find a way! You know the saying, where there's a will, there's a way!

Here's to hoping that tomorrow is just as productive!

Did you know that MyPatternedMind will soon be branching out to offer a line of bath and body products also??? Yep Yep Yep! The Bath and Body line has been named Essence of 84 and will be opening just as soon as I can get these photos of the products uploaded and listed on Etsy. So check out the shop- Essence of 84 and be on the lookout for some of our wonderful bath bars.

On a personal note, today marks for me a "NEW DAY". I have decided that enough is enough and it's time for me to get on a path to a healthier me. So I'm changing my lifestyle! Eating healthier and adding exercise into the mix. Im really excited about this and lookign forward to the path ahead of me! :)

I've been wanting this for the longest, so this is an aweomse accomplishment for me! I'm definitely loving this moment! :)

I have seriously let my blogging fall waaay behind. This is ridiculous! lol. Soo much has been going on lately that it's been hard to juggle everything. This summer session of school was jammed packed and exhausting- I really had no time to for my Etsy. But all is about to change... I'm going to make it a priority to try TRY to keep this up to date with all the new goodies I'm bringing into the shop. Bare with me as I get the ball rolling lol. Now I'm off to make some bags

And We're Up and Running!

Hey yall! Happy New Year to you and yours! Hope you had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying the start of 2009. Let me tell you, this year is going to be absolutely fantastic for me! It has already brought along with it many exciting new beginnings in my life. My hopes for this year are to allow myself to find creative inspiration in new places, remain motivated, and to be open to exploring new ideas.

With that said, I decided to start up a new blog for the sake of keeping my hobbies separated. I truly love scrapbooking and it will always be a passion of mine. However, my love for patterns and prints has seemingly expanded beyond the medium of just paper and cardstock towards fabrics and more! It has even led me to a discover the entrepreneur in me. I mean, with the economy being in the shape that it currently is, and me being a graduate student, finances had become more of a real issue for me. In fact, our nation's economic status ultimately inspired me to start thinking of little ways that I can go about pulling in extra money, and amazingly, led me to discover more of my creative skills. I never would have thought that I would have any type of sewing skills, but to my surprise, I really know my way around a sewing machine! Sooo, after dabbling in a few sewing projects, I found my niche- clutch making.

I truly enjoy it, and I have been encouraged, by a couple of my friends, to sell my purses. Thus, have decided to open up a little business. I have opened up an Etsy shop, MyPatternedMind, where I will be selling all of my clutches. As of now, I'm working on medium frame clutches, but large and extra large framed purses are soon to come! Lastly, I will be posting my latest creations here on this blog so I can dish about the creative process and my various collections. It's going to be absolutely wonderful, so I definitely hope that you'll stick around for a bit!
